What is EICR Testing and Certification?

EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report)

This is an assessment of the electrical systems within a property. It ensures that national standards for electrical safety are met, which are set out in the 18th edition of the ‘Wiring Regulations’. The testing checks all fixed electrical installations in a property are safe. These include wiring, wall sockets, light fittings and the fuse board.

The electrician inspecting the property will check for:

Any defective work / workmanship
Overloaded electrical installations
Potential fire hazards and shock risks
Lack of earthing or bonding on installations
